Daily Radio Report: 8/23/15   Leave a comment

I played around with my HF setup yesterday to improve my antenna conditions. I can tune up, at full power on 20 meters and 40 meters, by running the signal through the internal tuner in my Kenwood TS-570D, a coaxial switch, my MFJ-891, then my MFJ-949E tuner. I use the 949 to bring the impedance in range so that the 570D can handle it.

I can hear 40 meter signals, but could not check into the OMISS late net.

On 20 meters, I can tune up, but I have yet to hear a single signal. However, I can’t tell if that is me, or if that is conditions. I checked the DX spots on eham and I checked the county hunter spotter cluster, and neither of them are showing activity on 20 meters.

Thank you for reading this post.
